Job Summary:
The Triage Manager has administrative and operational oversight of the Urology Austin Triage department. This role will be responsible for the support and development of a high functioning group of patient triage call representatives, ensuring that effective patient care is delivered and urgent patient needs are addressed quickly and appropriately.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for quality assurance in the department's delivery of patient call triage and documentation
- Recommends changes to improve service delivery and implements changes and new programs
- Ensures continuity of care in the provision of triage services and for coordinating communication with other service components and departments in the practice.
- Ensures effective and regular communication amongst providers, departments, and other areas of the company
- Reviews metrics to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly performance measures meet expectations
- Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Urology Austin’s mission and strategic vision
- Informs Urology Austin leadership about any current operational issues occurring practice wide that have an impact on the overall well-being of Urology Austin
- Communicates Urology Austin’s operating policies and procedures to their staff
- Resolves any medical/administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional clinic atmosphere
- Oversees efforts, together with human resources, for recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of employees including disciplinary actions and terminations and maintains a fiscally responsible staff salary budget
- Oversees and manages the staff together with the Director of Operations
- Ensures Urology Austin’s compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies including State inspections, as applicable
- Monitors risk management activities and appropriately address all risk management issues as required by Texas law, including medical record custodial duties
- Represents Urology Austin in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies and third-party payers
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both with patient health records as well as sensitive Practice and employee information
- Primary management and oversight, together with Urology Austin leadership, of all assigned clinical site information technology including practice management administration, EMR system, system network issues, telephone system issues and management of hardware needs
- Utilization of Customer Relationship Management Software
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of medical practice experience required
- Urology experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Degree Required – Bachelors or RN
- Previous management experience strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of urological disease states and therapies
